The School of Healthy Living is a program that was developed in order to raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing.
The purpose of the program is to provide knowledge, tools, and skills for families to support them in making informed decisions about their life choices, promote mental health, and strengthen relationships within the family unit and the society. The program utilized the community engagement approach by sustaining an inclusive environment for people of diverse backgrounds and socio-economic statuses to foster new meaningful and healthy connections between the community members.
The School of Healthy Living: Community Response Project helps support vulnerable families during the COVID-19 pandemic with information and resources on family resilience and healthy child development.
This program focuses on the negative impacts of a pandemic on family health, including increased family violence, child abuse, high-stress level in children, compromised ability of parents to manage a child’s behavior, stress levels, and anxiety. Our goal is to support families in recognizing and reducing the sources of stress associated with COVID-19 reality and social isolation, strengthening core life skills, decreasing anxiety, building strong relationships, and increasing connection within the family unit.
